Adah Megged Nuchi, Editorial Agent

Adah Megged Nuchi was first introduced to the children's publishing world at home, as the daughter of a children's book art director. She began her own publishing career at the National Book Foundation, and later at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for Young Readers, where she was an acquiring editor of picture books, middle-grade, and young adult fiction for seven years. Her books have been named to the Kids' Indie Next List, YALSA Best Books for Young Adults, and Indies Introduce New Voices lists. As an editor, she most loved finding new talent and working with authors to shape a story, so she's excited to join the Jill Corcoran Literary Agency as an Editorial Agent, where she'll be partnering with Jill on client submissions, working primarily in an editorial capacity while Jill focuses on the business side.

Adah is looking for voice-driven middle-grade and young adult fiction with humor and heart, as well as upmarket fiction for adults. For both kids and adults, she is especially interested in immigrant and multicultural stories; unlikely romances that are witty and smart (including those with a male protagonist); strong, irrepressible heroines; protagonists that make you think; 20th century historical fiction; mystery, detective, and spy stories; and anything with a strong sense of place. She has a sweet spot for middle-grade stories that can stand the test of time, and is also eager to add picture book illustrators and authors to her list.

Adah partners with Jill Corcoran on all client manuscripts, with Adah focusing on editorial and Jill focusing on subbing, selling and negotiations. Adah and Jill work together to advise and guide clients' careers.  Authors and illustrators need only submit to either Adah or Jill, as they share all submissions.
